West Deer is due to have a new supervisor by early Thursday evening.
The supervisors will choose among three candidates at a 5 p.m. continuation of a meeting that began Wednesday.
A vacancy for District 4 supervisor was created when Dr. Jennifer Mann resigned.
The candidates, who spoke before the supervisors on Wednesday, are:
• David Harrison. A 32-year resident of the township who has served on various boards, Harrison runs a consulting firm for sound and vibration engineering. He feels he can help the township deal with any problems.
• Josh Wiegand. A 23-year veteran of the West Deer EMS service, he has also been a fire chief for West Deer No. 3 Fire Company, a position he wishes to continue with should he be named a supervisor.
• Michael Yoest. An office manager in nearby Allison Park, Hampton, Yoest said he sees the importance of municipal government as something he would like to take part in and find solutions to problems.
