LOWELL, Mass. – UMass Lowell Men's Basketball Head Coach Pat Duquette unveiled his squad's complete, 30-game slate for the 2022-23 season on Tuesday. The River Hawks open the new campaign at home on Monday, November 7 against Fisher before kicking off a multi-team event at Columbia on Thursday, Nov. 10.

"We are excited to get started again and are looking forward to a challenging non-conference schedule to get us ready for America East play," said Duquette, who is entering his 10th year at the helm of the program. "The league is as good as it's ever been, but we feel like we have a really deep and talented team that can contend for a championship."

After compiling the program's best winning percentage at the Division I level last season (.484), the River Hawks will play another competitive slate in 2022-23, eyeing a deep run in the America East Playoffs.

The squad will play two other games besides the Columbia matchup as part of the November MTE, beginning with a trip to Big Ten foe Rutgers on Nov. 12, and followed by a visit from Sacred Heart on Nov. 16. In addition to SHU, the River Hawks wrap up the month of November trekking to Brown (Nov. 23) and hosting two more Northeast Conference opponents, Stonehill (Nov. 27) and Merrimack (Nov. 30).

UMass Lowell opens December with a three-game road swing, it's longest of the season. That stretch concludes in Amherst for the annual Kennedy Cup Challenge game against Massachusetts on Dec. 8. Despite being a road-heavy month, which also includes a stop at Rhode Island (Dec. 13), the team will welcome Boston University to Lowell just before the holiday break on Dec. 21.

Although some league opponents have changed, the America East schedule will remain as a home-and-home format in 2022-23. The River Hawks head to NJIT for a New Year's Eve rendezvous and conference opener. The team then squares off against Maine at home on January 5 in its America East home opener.

Also in the month of January, UMass Lowell hosts reigning league champion Vermont (Jan. 11) and the No. 2 seed from a season ago, UMBC (Jan. 19), as well as America East newcomer Bryant (Jan. 22).

The River Hawks' final set of back-to-back home games for the season comes against UAlbany and NJIT on February 1 and 4, respectively. The River Hawks will wrap up the regular season against New Hampshire on Feb. 25.

The top eight teams in the standings will qualify for the 2022-23 America East Playoffs, which are set to begin with the quarterfinal round on Saturday, March 4. The semifinals will follow on Tuesday, March 7 to determine the championship matchup on Saturday, March 11. All rounds will be played at the higher seed.

The 2022-23 schedule is subject to change. Tsongas Center games will be announced at a later date. Updates can be found at www.goriverhawks.com.
