OFF TO A SLOW START
On the second game of a back-to-back, the Dubs were off to a slow start on Saturday. In the opening frame, the Warriors shot 38.1 percent from the field and 22.2 percent from 3-point range. Two-time MVP Stephen Curry was cold in the first half, going 1-for-11 from the field and 1-5 from beyond the arc.

SECOND HALF HUSTLE
Down by nine at halftime, the Dubs picked up the pace in the second half and closed the third frame with a 8-2 spurt, completed by a 38-foot Curry splash to close out the quarter. The Warriors carried that momentum into the fourth frame, opening the final quarter with a 12-2 run to bring the game within one. Though the Dubs gained the 104-103 lead with 2:39 left, San Antonio splashed a trey with 1:43 remaining in regulation to give the Spurs their final lead of the night.

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS
There were contributions across the roster in Saturday’s near-comeback, with Curry warming up in the second half and finishing with a team-high 27 points and eight rebounds. Fellow veteran Draymond Green shied a triple-double with nine points, nine assists and eight rebounds while Damion Lee and Juan Toscano-Anderson combined for 27 points off the bench.

DEFENSE ON LOCK
The Warriors' number one defensive rating was on full display in the final frame, with the squad holding the Spurs to only four points though nine minutes of the fourth quarter.

The Warriors are now 19-4 on the season as the squad looks ahead to a Monday night matchup against the Orlando Magic (NBCSBA, 7:00 p.m.).

More Notables:

  • Golden State still owns the best home record in the NBA at 12-2 and is tied with Phoenix for the league’s best overall record at 19-4.

  • Three of the four Warriors losses this season have been by four or fewer points.

  • The Warriors completed their third back-to-back set of the season. They fall to 2-1 in the second night of the set.
