Only one defending state champion is returning the Super 7 this year.
After a string of semifinal shockers, only two-time Class 7A champ Thompson is back to defend its title. The Warriors will open the Super 7 against undefeated Central-Phenix City at 7 p.m. Wednesday night at Birmingham’s Protective Stadium.
