Brian Laundrie Got Jealous When He Saw Gabby Petito Talking to Other Men—Former Colleague - Newsweek

A man who used to work with Brian Laundrie said that although he did not see him be mean or abusive to his now-deceased former fiancée, Gabby Petito, he did appear to be jealous if he spotted her talking to other men.

"He would come over and do the boyfriend thing, put his arm around her, give her a kiss, very possessive," Michael Livingston, who said he worked with Laundrie, in 2017 and 2018, told Fox News Digital.

31-year-old Livingston said he worked as a landscaper for a Long Island Garden Center where Laundrie, who investigators have been searching for for over four weeks, worked the sales counter and did other jobs.

"He never came across as the kind of person that would be the killing type," Livingston said. "But he did have that tendency to be — I don't wanna say the wrong thing and make him sound worse than he already is — he was kind of a guy who would get p---ed off pretty quick."

Laundrie, 23, is missing and has been named as a person of interest in Petito's death. Petito, 22, was declared missing on September 11, 10 days after not returning from a cross-country tour of national parks with Laundrie.

Her remains were found in Grand Teton National Park on September 19. Laundrie's parents said he had gone missing six days earlier. Authorities have been searching for him since.

Laundrie has not been charged with Petito's homicide but as the investigation is in its infancy, it doesn't mean he is exempt from facing charges in connection with the incident in the future. Last month, the FBI announced a federal indictment accusing him of draining more than $1,000 from bank accounts he was not authorized to use after Petito's death. They did not mention whose account it was, but the lawyer for Petito's family alleges it was his fiancée's.

Livingstone said in the interview that Laundrie sometimes acted like a "weirdo."

"I remember from back then he was a big yoga nut, always telling me, 'I gotta worry about my zen,'" Livingston said. "And I thought he was this weirdo."

But he added that Laundrie was a good employee "who knew how to talk to people."

"He knew how to make people like him, he knew how to make people happy, and he knew how to make people buy the product that we had, honest. He had the same kind of air you would be taught if you worked at a dealership."

A lawyer acting for Laundrie declined to comment.

Petito was last seen alive in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, on a cross-country road trip with Laundrie on August 25. She was found dead in Grand Teton National Park on September 19, and officials have ruled that her death was a homicide. On October 12, a Wyoming coroner confirmed Petito had died of strangulation.

Laundrie returned to his parent's house in North Fort, Florida, without Petito on September 1. He was declared missing on September 17.

Laundrie's parents initially said they last saw their son on September 14, telling authorities at the time they believed he was heading to the Carlton Reserve nearby to hike or camp. They later changed that date to September 13. On September 20 Brian Laundrie's parents were questioned at their home by the FBI, with the home later searched.

Laundrie's father Chris Laundrie joined the search for his son on October 7, suggesting the family could be cooperating with authorities.

Brian Laundrie was reported missing days before the discovery of his girlfriend Gabby Petito's body and a manhunt has focused on an inhospitable Florida wildlife reserve.
