The Lions underwent a two-hour afternoon practice which included skill drills, special teams, position group work, seven-on-seven, and 11-on-11 offense vs. defense drills. Prior to practice, players attended team, special teams, and unit/position meetings. All practices are open to the public. A complete preseason training camp schedule is available at this link. The Lions practiced in shorts, jerseys, and helmets. The temperature was a humid 80 degrees with overcast and sunny skies. Earlier in the morning, the Lions underwent both weight and run tests.
Columbia's first-year and sophomore classes, a total of 62 student-athletes, underwent their first collegiate practice.
Columbia will practice 20 times before it officially opens its 2021 season at home on Saturday, Sept. 18 against Marist (1 p.m. kickoff).

Columbia returns 17 starters (eight on offense and nine on defense) and a host of additional players who saw extensive action during the 2019 season. As a whole, the Lions return 72 total letterwinners.
