Fleet Complete launches Vision 2.0 - Modern Bulk Transporter

Fleet Complete recently launched Vision 2.0, the latest fleet dash camera solution.

Vision 2.0 features a dual-facing camera with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and on-the-edge artificial intelligence processing. It includes on-board LTE connectivity and a driver monitoring system for optimal in-cabin safety coverage.

With live playback of events, the solution helps to elevate commercial fleet safety and driver training programs, the company said. It is designed for companies that are looking to protect their mobile staff on the road and avoid potentially fraudulent insurance claims in an event of a collision if the driver is not at fault.

“Inclement weather, bad traffic, poor road conditions, and other road users can create a hazardous environment while driving,” said Tony Lourakis, CEO of Fleet Complete. “Our new Vision 2.0 is a complete solution with smart video recording and driver coaching through a Companion app that will provide your drivers with an added layer of visibility, risk detection, and safety on the road.”

Rob Nella, CEO of Nella, a premier sales and service company for the food service industry, agrees with that assessment of Vision 2.0’s benefits.

“Our company distributes restaurant equipment and supplies, and our drivers have to be very efficient and careful with their loads, because this equipment is very expensive, delicate—or really sharp,” Nella said. “Fleet Complete’s Vision 2.0 is a very intelligent onboard solution that adds that extra layer of safety and a heads-up for our drivers on the road to avoid any mishaps that can cost us both financially and in customer satisfaction.

“It is also a peace of mind that, if something does happen and our driver is not at fault, there is video evidence that can help us with insurance claims or potential litigations.

“It is a hands-free solution as well, which means it will start and end a trip on its own. Even if you have more than one driver using the vehicle during the same trip, Vision 2.0 will keep individual metrics per user.”

Fleet Complete’s Vision 2.0 offers a wide range of benefits that include:

  • Live in-vehicle driver coaching;
  • Drowsiness and distraction warnings;
  • Potential insurance costs reduction;
  • Mitigating liability issues;
  • Increasing employee retention;
  • Fostering a better safety culture.

Vision 2.0 works as a plug-and-play installation with any vehicle that has an OBDII, 6-pin or 9-pin port and integrates seamlessly with Fleet Complete’s platform.

Clients can access all vehicle data, driving analytics, route analysis, and video in a single interface, without the need to switch between systems. All business-critical elements are available to a fleet manager to best manage logistics, operations, compliance, and driver training.

CarriersEdge has completed a new wellness series with the two final titles: Healthy Eating and Exercise for Drivers. The new titles are designed to help educate professional drivers on making healthier choices when it comes to diet and exercise.

The suite of nine wellness modules CarriersEdge has developed in the past year include topics such as recognizing and managing fatigue, measures to protect against illness and information about viruses and vaccines. Healthy Eating and Exercise for Drivers are each comprised of two smaller modules that can be taken separately. The courses include text, images, interactive exercises, real-life examples, quizzes, and a final test.

Healthy Eating provides a three-step process to follow in choosing the right foods to eat as well as helping drivers determine their hunger levels and food habits. The course also examines what food labels mean and how marketing tries to influence food purchases. After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Use the USDA's MyPlate nutrition guide or Canada’s Food Guide to identify healthy foods
  • Determine the nutritional value of a food item using a nutrition label
  • Describe how to replace unhealthy habits
  • Identify cues for thirst, hunger and cravings
  • Explain how marketing influences your food choices

Exercise for Drivers explains the risks of falling into a sedentary lifestyle, and how to step into an exercise routine based on an individual’s “fitness mindset.” The three main exercise categories are discussed and exercises that can be modified for any fitness level are detailed for learners to put together a custom program alongside their carrier’s wellness team. After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the characteristics and risks of a sedentary lifestyle
  • Examine their fitness mindset and how to progress to fitness goals
  • Identify opportunities to perform the three basic types of exercise
  • Tailor an exercise to match beginner or advanced fitness levels

“For both these courses, we worked with our industry partners to put together information professional drivers can use while they’re on the road,” Jane Jazrawy, CEO of CarriersEdge, said. “What makes our courses unique is that in addition to offering instruction on how to choose healthy foods and plan exercise routines, we also focus on the psychological factors preventing people from making those choices. We like to highlight the science behind what happens to the human body when you change habits.”
