RALEIGH COUNTY W. VA. (WVVA) - The Lake Stephens dam construction project in Raleigh County is almost completed.
The project came about as regulations for the dam changed last year.
Today, the county commission voted on Tuesday to approve the last of the funding, which was for costs that came up at the last minute.
Molly Williams, the Director of Parks and Recreation in Raleigh County, said the project will completed in time for the summer, despite the funding needed last minute.
"We started this project in the fall, this was our anticipated finish time frame, so the project was right on schedule so as soon as it gets warm enough and we can pave then we will pace it, and completely finish the project," said Williams.
The funds that were approved at today's county commission meeting covered engineering, change orders, and other unforeseen funds.
