FORT MYERS, Fla. – Head men's soccer coach Jesse Cormier completed the Eagles' spring slate by adding a road contest to start the season at FIU and its home-opener versus FAU.
"Both non-conference opponents are two of the best teams in the region and will be great tests and provide challenges for our squads prior to the start of ASUN play," said Cormier. "Quite frankly, it will be nice just to play an outside opponent, something we haven't done since last February."
FIU last season posted a 10-3-5 mark in 2019, reaching as high as No. 11 in the polls. FAU recorded a 7-8-1 record, highlighted by a 1-0 win over No. 15 Marshall.
Last week, the Green and Blue were tabbed as the favorites to come out of the ASUN. O'Vonte Mullings was voted as the Preseason Player of the Year while the Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year went to Gustavo Vasconcelos. Right-wing defender Titouan Le Menec landed on the list as an All-Conference pick.
