Election results are starting to come in, as polling places across San Francisco and the Bay Area closed at 8 p.m. Beyond the presidential contest, many California propositions and local races are being closely watched.
Uber, Lyft, DoorDash and other gig companies poured more than $188 million into California Prop. 22 to keep their drivers as independent contractors. San Francisco’s Prop. F will overhaul business taxes in the city and Prop. I will increase taxes on property sales valued at $10 million or more. Measure RR seeks more funding for Caltrain.
Here’s a short list of final results on the key races that San Francisco and Bay Area voters are deciding. We’ll be updating this list around the clock as our politics team makes calls.
Note: The Chronicle calls races based on several factors, including the current margin, the estimated number of ballots left to be counted and, in some cases, where those ballots come from. California is accepting mailed ballots through Nov. 20, so for some close contests, final results could take some time to be called following election day.
