SAN FERNANDO — A 28-year-old man pleaded no contest Wednesday to charges that he sexually battered two women at Cal State Northridge a day apart in November 2018.
Peter Wei was ordered to complete a year in a residential mental health program, register as a sex offender for life, wear a GPS monitoring device for a year and serve five years on probation following his plea to two felony counts of sexual battery by restraint.
A five-year state prison sentence that was suspended may be imposed if Wei violates the terms of his probation, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Wei grabbed two women and tried to put them in a chokehold in attacks on Nov. 27 and Nov. 28, 2018, according to Deputy District Attorney Myle Phan.
Both women managed to escape, the prosecutor said.
