Hyde Park sewer treatment plant structure 'a complete loss' after fire: fire chief - Poughkeepsie Journal

nnnindonesia.blogspot.com

A county-owned sewer treatment plant for the Greenfields Subdivision in Hyde Park was a "complete loss" after an early morning fire in the structure, on Friday.

According to Roosevelt Fire Chief Lew Darrow, the department was called to the area around 5:28 a.m. where firefighters found the 30-by-50-foot structure in flames. He said the shed housed two units of machinery used to treat sewage.

While the building is a loss, Darrow said the county has alternate plans to continue service to the area.

Roughly 40 firefighters responded and had the fire under control within 25 minutes. Darrow said there were no injuries to first responders or civilians. He said the fire is under investigation by the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division, but is considered non-suspicious.
