Which N.J. beaches and boardwalks are open this weekend? Here’s a complete list - and restrictions to be awar - NJ.com

nnnindonesia.blogspot.com

Gov. Murphy announced on Thursday that beaches and boardwalks will be open in time for Memorial Day weekend, a decision that reflects the slowing rate of the coronavirus outbreak across the state.

What he did not announce is that beaches across the state will also be open in time for this weekend.

Although the summer season is still a week away, most beaches across Atlantic, Cape May, Monmouth and Ocean counties are currently open to the public. While some municipalities are enforcing stronger regulations than others, all are requiring visitors to continue to practice social distancing while on the beaches.

Prior to Thursday’s announcement, boroughs including Seaside Heights, Spring Lake and Manasquan already established multi-phased plans for implementing beach restrictions this summer. Others regions, like Cape May County, have spearheaded additional precautions, including the “Six Feet Saves” campaign, for which “social distance ambassadors” monitor high volume areas in Cape May to ensure that people are remaining six feet apart from one another.

These actions preceded and, to a certain extent, portended Thursday’s announcement, during which Gov. Murphy shared that local officials are required to implement capacity limitations, enforce social distancing measures, prohibit contact sports and organized events and implement proper and regular sanitation procedures in facilities, including shower pavilions, changing areas and restrooms, at all beaches by Memorial Day weekend.

But, with Memorial Day Weekend and the arrival of beach season just a week away, what can New Jersey residents expect to see at local beaches this coming weekend?

They can find the answers here:
