Male nurse struck off after taking snaps of colleague's bottom in care home - Scottish Daily Record

A male nurse has been struck off for leaving a colleague “physically sick” after taking a picture of her bottom while she worked.

Iain Scott, whose behaviour was once compared to antics from Carry On Matron, worked at Abbotsford Care nursing home in Kinglassie, Fife, when he started behaving inappropriately towards junior female colleagues.

He intentionally bumped into one woman, known as Colleague A, and pinched her cheek before taking the photo as she kneeled on the floor.

He then showed it to the horrified woman.

Scott also told another woman, Colleague B, that she looked “sexy and strong” and later side-kicked her on the buttocks.

He told a third woman, Colleague C, that Colleague B “looked beautiful without make-up on”.

Scott was reported to bosses and sacked after an investigation into the incidents in November and December 2018.

The case came before a disciplinary panel of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), which led to him being struck off.

The panel heard Scott’s conduct wasn’t sexually motivated. Instead, female nurses believed he was desperate to be liked and became “over-familiar” with them.

Scott, who wasn’t present at the hearing in Edinburgh, will not be able to apply to go back on the register for five years.

Last year, he was suspended by the NMC for a year over nine charges dating to between 2014 and 2017, when he worked at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.

They included that he touched the breast of a colleague and exclaimed: “Whooo,” just like in a scene from the 1972 Carry On film.
