Tyler Adams will fly to England later today with Leeds United ready to wrap up his transfer from RB Leipzig.
The midfielder is in line to complete a move to Elland Road before the end of this week after Leeds and Leipzig agreed the terms of his proposed switch to the Premier League.
Negotiations between the clubs reached an advanced stage yesterday, allowing Leeds to begin planning a medical and make preparations to complete the formalities of a switch which is understood to be costing in the region of £20 million.
The transfer will see Adams play under Leeds’ head coach Jesse Marsch for the third time in his career following previous stints together at Leipzig and New York Red Bulls.
Adams has made 75 Bundesliga appearances in four years at Leipzig but was no longer a major part of the club’s plans and had been made available in this window.
He stands to become Leeds’ fourth senior signing of the summer, following Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen and Marc Roca into Elland Road. Darko Gyabi, 18, has also joined from Manchester City.
United are also closing in on Feyenoord winger Luis Sinisterra following productive discussions with the 23-year-old’s club.
Leeds hope to have both players on board in time for them to travel with the rest of the squad on their tour of Australia. They are due to fly out for three games down under this weekend.
