A new Summer League champion will be crowned Sunday as the New York Knicks and the Portland Trail Blazers battle for the title at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
The Knicks and Blazers finished their qualifying games with a 3-1 record and while five other teams hold the same record (Raptors, Bucks, Celtics, Thunder, and Bulls), the Knicks and Blazers advanced to the championship game thanks to superior point differential.

The Knicks are in search of their first Summer League crown, while the Blazers won in 2018 and will look to tie the Sacramento Kings for the most championships (2).
The first Las Vegas Summer League was played in 2004, featuring six teams. In 2004, the Celtics, Cavaliers, Nuggets, Magic, Suns and Wizards played a 13-game schedule, but no champion was crowned.
In each year since, the event has grown and since 2018, all 30 teams have participated, with the Warriors winning the first Summer League championship in 2013.

After the COVID-19 pandemic caused a one-year break for the Las Vegas Summer League, the Kings came back to claim the title in 2021.
In addition to Louis King being named MVP of the championship game, Sacramento's Davion Mitchell earned co-MVP of the league, with both players sparking the championship run.
