STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — In need of $1,000?
Just be nice.
Wishlisted, a lifestyle platform, is promising one super-kind individual 1,000 big ones in honor of National Do Something Nice Day on Oct. 5. The catch: The Chosen One must complete seven good deeds over the span of seven days, ranging from paying for the car behind them in the drive-thru, to dropping off dog and cat food at a local animal shelter.
Once Wishlisted selects the do-gooder, it will send the individual $500 cash to cover the required seven good deeds (listed below). Upon completion, Wishlisted will gift the good Samaritan their well-earned $1,000.
The deeds:
• Day 1: Pay for the car behind you in a drive-thru ($50 budget)
• Day 2: Call a family member you haven’t talked to in a while (Free)
• Day 3: Drop off dog or cat food at a local animal shelter of your choice ($100)
• Day 4: Leave a gas card taped to a gas pump ($50)
• Day 5: Leave a $100 tip for a restaurant server ($100)
• Day 6: Drop off sweet treats to your local fire station ($100)
• Day 7: Give a stranger in a store a gift card toward their purchase ($100)
The deadline for applications is midnight on Monday, Oct. 4, and a winner will be announced the following day. The $500 budget to cover completing the deeds will be sent to the winner prior to the start of the seven days. Upon completion of the tasks (and some photo proof of their success), the person will be awarded $1,000. For the full contest terms and conditions, click here.
To apply, visit Wishlisted’s website.
Wishlisted also will match up to $1,000 in donations to Random Acts Inc. — a Texas-based nonprofit organization aimed at inspiring acts of kindness around the world. Visit its website to read about its mission or to make a donation. If you donate, email your receipt to Wishlisted so it can match it.
