BHOPAL: A 23-year-old man allegedly raped his 19-yearold colleague at his friend’s apartment in Ashoka Garden locality.
Investigation officer SI Yogita Jain said that the survivor resides alone in a rented room in the city. She worked at a private firm along with the accused. Soon, they developed friendship.
Last year, on August 13, the accused invited the survivor to his birthday party. Even though the survivor was a bit reluctant, the accused insisted and took her to his friend’s room.
There he forced himself on her and raped her. He threatened her of dire consequences, if she told anyone about the incident.
Even as the survivor was intimidated, the accused raped her repeatedly.
Fed up of harassment, the survivor told her cousin what she had been through. The survivor then reported the matter to police on Friday.
Cops have registered a case and started investigations. No arrest has been made in the case yet.
