2020-21 UMass Lowell Hockey Schedule: PDF | HTML

LOWELL, Mass. –

Hockey East unveiled the league's much anticipated 2020-21 slate on Wednesday. The 55th season of River Hawk hockey will get underway on Friday, November 27 when the Northeastern Huskies come to Tsongas.

"Our players and staff are very excited about the schedule announcement from Hockey East," said UMass Lowell Head Coach Norm Bazin. "We've planned to be ready for the November 27 start date. Despite all the uncertainty, our team will be ready to push through and enjoy competing again."

The River Hawks' 27-game campaign will consist of Hockey East opponents only, as the squad is set to play a two-game series against each of the other 10 Hockey East member institutions that will count towards the league standings, in addition to seven non-conference contests.

Following opening weekend against Northeastern, a home-and-home series with Boston College kicks off the month of December ahead of the team's longest homestand of the season. That four-game stretch will include two against Vermont (Dec. 12-13), one against Maine (Dec. 19) and the frontend of a set with in-state foe Massachusetts (Dec. 26) on NESN.

January sees the River Hawks hit the road six times, the most of any month during season. However, the team does host UConn and Providence for back-to-back dates on Jan. 23 and Jan. 29, respectively, to close out the month. UMass Lowell starts February facing off against New Hampshire (Feb. 12-13) in its only series that will count towards the Hockey East standings for the month. A home-and-home series against UConn (Feb. 19-20) and a pair of road tilts at Vermont (Feb. 27-28) follow before the River Hawks close out the regular season against UMass on March 5-6.

In working with state and local guidelines, the River Hawks will play their November and December home games without spectators. The policy will be re-evaluated come January 1 for the possibility of allowing a limited number of socially distanced spectators. In the interim, the River Hawks Cutout Crowd is open with your opportunity to put yourself in the stands for each and every game. Click here to take part in the cutout program.

Fans will be able to watch every UMass Lowell game on television or online, as Hockey East will once again partner with NESN and ViacomCBS Digital to provide fans across the world the opportunity to view every single Hockey East game in the 2020-21 season. Today, Hockey East announced a slate of games that can be seen on NESN through January 1, as well as news that all other streamed games will be made available to fans for free on one of ViacomCBS Digital's platforms. Before the end of the calendar year, UMass Lowell will be featured on NESN five times. Full television schedule details and how-to-watch information about streamed games, as well as specific game times, will be announced in the coming days.
